Improvement of the movie late

At the beginnig of the term we all made a short movie called Late. Now that I have learned more things about editing, sound, mise en scene and thrillers I could for sure improve some things.

Firstly, I would start with an establishing shot so see where the scene is happening, is it a classroom or is it another type of room? In the film we made we can deduce that, but we cannot be sure. Then, when we have a close up of the phone we can't really read what the text says because it is a bit blurry, I would film that again with a stadicam for it to not move and be able to read the texts properly. And instead of just filimig with no movement I would apply a zoom or a revers zoom movement. 

I think the angles are pretty good so I wouldn't change that. Another thing I think is pretty good is how I matched the different shots, it is true that maybe I could some more creative editing like a match cut or even a fade in/fade out. But for sure I would add a lot more shots and make it a bit longer, and more interesting.

Thirdly, the sound is not very good it is a bit dissonance. Some words overlap when it cuts from one shot to another, so I would change that and try to make it neater. Even if that means recording the sound appart. I could even add some non-diegetic sounds like a soundtrack.

In conclusion, if I could do this video again, I would do it a bit different and hopefully do a better job, however, I still have a lot of things to learn and think I could do it much more better.
